Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri and Alien Crossfire

SMAC is a great game but I got really tired of searching all over the map for my air units. To fix this I wrote Alpha Centauri Helper (ACH). This program lets you look at a saved game and spot all of your units (or another faction's!) on a map. Let's you know which are already moved too. Version 0.2 adds viewing city stats, facilities, and game editing. Version 0.30 lets you see what advances you get when developing a technology or what technologies you need to advance. This is interactive with a saved game so you can see which technologies you know and which need to be discovered.

If you have the Alien Crossfire expansion of Alpha Centauri, ACH will not work. Please download AXH instead.

ACE allows limited editing of maps for Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri (tm) (SMAC) and Alien Crossfire (SMAX). The program was designed to help overcome a peculiarity of SMAC maps (at least as far as I could determine). If you make a map in the SMAC built-in editor the random resources (minerals, food, energy) cannot be removed. As far as I could tell they are not stored in the map file but seem to be generated each time. Maps can be made with random resources and pods turned off but then you have to add them all in by hand. ACE will let you add random resources to a map that was made with the random resources turned off in the SMAC editor. Some of these then can be removed if they are in an inconvenient spot using the SMAC built-in editor. In addition ACE can be set to put variable densities of resources over the whole map or only a portion as well as only on land or sea.

Jagged Alliance Deadly Games

DGED is an item editor for Single Player Deadly Games saved games. It should be useful for editing randomly generated scenarios with lots of bad guys. These seem to require better weapons than normal. In addition to manually adding any item, all of the mercs can be equipped with a random array of more or less great equipment.

Some Thoughts on MOO2

Use MooEd to change the properties of any existing planet in the MOO2 galaxy.  Move stars around. MOO2 is an old game available now for a low price. It is fun and there are some editors available but I couldn't find one for planets.
